It's been over a year since I posted so I decided to catch everyone up on what is going on in our lives. We have two new grandson's Tiffany and Blake had Quentin on August 30th and Marcella and Anthony had Brigham on October 20th.

Wow, I haven't blogged since last Christmas. A lot has happened in 4 months. Brent and I went to Hawaii for our "30" two years late anniversary. It was our first trip all by ourselves bout time wouldn't you say!

We have two new grandbabies on the way. Tiff and Blake are due The first of September with a baby boy. Anthony and Marcella are having a baby the end of October we don't know what they are having yet.

We went to Lake Powell end of March first week of April and Brent got in a car accident. He was driving Tiffany's car back down after coming home for his mission reunion with Nate and Sadie and Carson. The roads were slushy and he slid in the other on coming lane and they were hit by a Semi-truck. They all still came down to lake Powell and when we got home almost a week later Brent ended up in the hospital with a collapsed lung. He must be iron man because the doctors couldn't believe he could function like that. It didn't stop him he stayed off the roof for maybe a week but is now back at it as if nothing has happened. We feel very blessed indeed!

Christal and Austin are playing soccer right now on the same team and have won 3 games in a row and Christal is also playing softball and is an awesome pitch!!

Wow, I haven't put anything new on this blog since last February almost a whole year ago. It is now December 10th last Sunday we had a family dinner for Brent's birthday so we took family pictures. We had 3 camera's going and my camera ended up a little blurry but I am going to post a few pictures anyway. Hopefully I will get some better ones from my kids camera's. As you can see our family is growing. We are all doing well!. Brent just had hernia surgery and if recovering quickly. Roofing is slow right now so it was a good time to have the surgery.

It's been a few months since I last blogged so I decided to update our blog encase anyone wants an update on our new son Austin. Austin received the priesthood on Feb. 8th and we went to the temple on Feb. 14th to have him sealed to us. It was an amazing experience to have all our children and spouses in the temple. Brent's mission President was the one who sealed us so that was special too.

Hello to all,

I haven't posted since we arrived home with Austin in September so it's about time that I up date.

Austin is doing really well! He know English fairly well and can communicate. He fits right into our family and we love him so much.

After arriving home on September 25th we had a few day to get ready for our daughters reception at our home on the 30th of September. It was very nice and we had great weather for it. Austin was a good sport while meeting all his new relatives and neighbors.

For Christmas this year we went on a Western Carabean cruise with our family. We took 13 out of 17 of us, we left the 4 little grandkids home. Austin's favorite part was all the food, he also enjoyed swimming with the dolpins.

Austin was baptised on December 27th along with his counsin Artem so it was a very special day and we are proud of both of them.

We are now enjoying the holidays with lots of family parties and getting together with friends.

We are home now and it is so good to be home!!!!! We got up at 3:30 am Thursday morning to be out and ready by the curb at 4:15 a.m. I couldn't sleep I was afraid We wouldn't wake up to our alarm like the day we were coming to Kiev. Everything went smoothly at all 3 airports, Kiev, Munic Germany, and Denver. We made it home 10 minutes early so around 4:45 p.m. It was a wonderful reunion with our family and friends! We are so thankful to be home and know that we received a few miracle's in our behalf through this whole process!!! Thank you so much to all who helped us!!!

September 24th

This is the day we were suppose to fly out but had to change our tickets so we are still here. But it has been good. If you read the Rogers blog you can catch up for the last two days. Here in Kiev we have the nicest apartment we have been in and we have the internet here with no hassle so it is great to be able to e-mail our family so easily. We have one more apointment with the US Embassy today at 2 p.m. and then we all get to fly home tomorrow. Our flight comes in at 4:56 from Denver on United and the Morgans are trying to also get that same flight out. The Rogers and Hatches are on the same flight with Delta and get in at 8pm. We don't know if they are going to take us all to the airport at the same time or if they will split us up because of the 3 hour difference. Thanks, Ann for your comment Yes, Austin was wearing a BYU sweatshirt and that is the one thing we are bringing home with us. I am sure one of the American families bought it. We are Happy and Well and are glad we are almost done!!!

Today we got the news that we had to change our flight tickets. We will be flying home on Thursday instead of Wednesday and we are praying hard that we won't have to change them again.
We ate at McDonalds today because it was Artem Rogers birthday. His is the 8th birthday we have celebrated since we have been here. Julie Hatch, Lucinda Milne's, Kent Rogers, Artem Milne, Todd Heiner, Janet Heinr, Vikka Heiner, and now Artem Rogers.
After McDonalds we went back to our apartment and continued to celebrate with cake pressent, and computor games. It was alittle warmer today and no rain! Yes!

We all got birth certificates today. Brent was gone the longest 21 hours mostly in the car. I'm glad I didn't have to go. I was home alone until 1p.m. when the Rogers made it back. I took lots of pictures of our apartment, finished my book, did some wash wrote in my journal. The Heiners and Tonya came back with the Rogers we ate some lunch and then we were off to the school. We stopped at the market first to find some Athletic jackets for the Heiners and we found a pretty good deal. Then the Heiners treated us all to crepes. We bought the crepes then jumped on a bus that was very full and had to stand almost the whole way so we couldn't eat our crepes until we were dropped off by the school.

We got our boys school transcripts and grades for their first two weeks of school this year. Then we spent time in their T.V. room again putting puzzels together, talking, looking at their photo's we had sent them, and the boys ended up playing hide and seek. You can't beleive all the hidding places in one small room. It was a fun day. We made it back to the apartment around 7 p.m. and waited for the Hatches to come get their luggage, and for the landlord to come collect rent, and for Brent to get home from his long long journey. They all showed up around 9 p.m. Hatches had to catch a train by 9:30 back to Keiv and they had Logan with them.

Today was a mixed up day. Natalie was suppose to get our boys out at around 10:30 a.m. and then we were going to meet her at McDonalds to eat and then go to the 1:20 show of BatMan. but at 10:20 when I called her she hadn't left her apartment yet and she said she would call us when she was leaving the school with the boys so we could meet her. Finally we call at 11:45 and she was on the bus coming and had forgotten to call us so we hurry and left our apartment to meet them. We went and got passport pictures taken of all the kids then we went back to McDonalds to eat lunch. We decided to bag the show bcause we had a teacher from the school with us as a chaparone and cute little Nastia Morgan with us.

After eating we walked around the mall for awhile, then picked up the passport pictures, then got on a bus to go back to the school. We had a nice program with Maria and Sergei kind of a going away program with the boys whole class. The boys sang and played the flutes. Maria told the boys how lucky they were to have families and that they better pay us back with kindness. It was very touching and then she handed us some of the boys school work and pictures and keep sakes.

After the program we all went to the gym to play more basketball. Parents against kids. Parents won 32 to 28. It ended up being a very good day!

Another cloudy rainy day. We were going to take the boys out today and go to the movies but the director wouldn't let us. When we got to the school Serge the boys music teacher was finally there. He's been out with a broken clavical. We got to play basketball in the gym It felt so good to run around and get a lttle exercise. Then we watched the boys play another class in soccer. It was rainy and cold!!!
The last 45 minutes we got to go in the gym again and play volleyball. It was parents against the boys. We wooped them. We have to get the boys passport pictures tomorrow so we might try the movie thing again.

Monday Sept. 15th

Today we went to the market looking for a jacket for Austin since we didn't bring him one. We didn't buy anything yet. We went to the school early today. The boys had a chore to do and it was beating sacks of beans. They were the hard white kind and it was fun to watch. After they beat the sacks and threw them all over the place they dumped them out onto a rug and seperated the husks from the beans. After they finished getting all the beans they burned the husks and roasted apples on a stick in the fire.

Then we went into their T.V. room and played games. We brought our computer so we could show the boys the dvd of the Jorgensons home coming with Misha. His teacher and Maria enjoyed seeing it. We also showed the twins the dvd from Julie Harris who is thinking of adopting them. The boys loaded 3 different games on our computer and had fun playing those for awhile.

We walked over to the little store they have really close to the school and bought the boys ice cream. After playing some more games we left at 7p.m. when it was time for the boys to eat their snack. While walking back to get on a bus we ran into Natalie bringing Artem Milne home from the court. All went well for them now they have the 10 day waiting period.

We had a nice time at church with the boys. The missionaries talked in church then for Sunday school we had the missionaries explain some of the programs of the church to help the boys know what to expect once they get to America. It rained the whole 30 minute walk home. Luckily we had umbrellas.

We fixed dinner for the 9 of us as quickly as we could because the boys had already started to snack on what they could find, which was mostly candy, crackers and cheese.

After dinner we played games again, 5000 with the dice and cards. I looked at the photo album with Ruslan so he could tell me who was who and explain what they were doing. One little boy he kept calling his brother ended up being a cousin. It was great to have Natalie there to help translate. We gave Ruslan his birthday present which was a camera and he seemed excited to get it. I also did some haircuts. Julie wanted me to cut Logans hair because he had a mullet going. He wasn't sure he wanted one so Ruslan said he wanted one so I did him first then Logan let me do his. Then Sasha wanted one too. Christal, I spiked Ruslan's hair but he straightened it back down again. We had a visit from Neil and Carolyn and Artem their roomates, The Heiners, wanted to take a nap.

While I was doing the hair cuts the boys wanted to see the cloths we brought for them. They seemed surprised and excited they tried some of the things on but then we let them know they couldn't wear anything until we were done with the school.

Today which is Saturday Arri and I stayed in the Apartment until we were kicked out by the maid at 11:30 a.m. They guys went to a ward baptism at 9 a.m. It was done in the river and it was cold outside and since Arri was fighting a cold and I had woken up at 2 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep so I finally got up at 4 and typed my blog for yesterday we stayed home to rest and read.

We ran into the guys coming home so we all went shopping at the outdoor market before coming back to the apartment. Then we left at 2 to go get the boys. We brought them back to the church to play ping pong we had alot of fun playing chinese ping pong with everyone and then played several single games. Then we all went out for pizza. Natalie took the boys back for us at 6:30 p.m. Another fun day.

Today we took the pictures from Maria's (the boys teacher)photo album down to the photo shop to have them scanned and put on a cd. We took around 90 pictures. They are when the boys were younger. The pictures were of field trips they had taken, school programs, special ocasions. We also copied several cd's that Maria gave us to our computers. The pictures are so fun becasue they have all the kids in them from Maria's class.

Then we headed to the school. We stayed indoors today because it has turned cold here. We played UNO but the cards looked different than the ones we use at home but it didn't take long to figure them out. They had pictures from High School Musical on them.

We had a really good conversation about what will happen at school in America. When we told them they couldn't talk during class and that Anne Hunter was called about 5 times for Anistasia first day at school, Austin (Ruslan) said maybe I can beat that record. He definatly is a jokester. The boys were excited when we told them they don't wear uniforms. We also went over what would happen in an eye exam so Austin will know what is going on since we will need to get him glasses or contact as soon as we get home. It was a great day.

Today is Kent Rogers and Artem Milne's birthday. Carolyn made a cake to share with all the kids and Arri bought a cake for Kent who had a party with Sasha and Artem's grandma and brother. Arrianna and I had to go shopping with Victor and Natalie to buy our $500 gift we are suppose to give the school. We purchased posters for the school and two big rugs, and a vacuum. All I can say is it was different! The rest of the day we spent with the boys at the school having a birthday party, playing 5000, and playing cards, and we did study English for awhile with the book we had sent Austin. Austin wanted to go over the page with all the school stuff on it. I think that is what he is most worried about in coming to America. With the rainy weather we will probably be doing alot of the same stuff inside. We hope the gym gets opened soon so we can play basketball to release some of the boys energy.

Today we had to nortorize more paper work then we went to the school. We took a long walk around the lake and through the subdivision. I had one of our new translators named Tanya walk with Austin and me and I found out how he makes his money. While we were walking we ran into Austin' boss it was a long walk. Austin helps a construction worker build a house. Sasha Rogers is his partner and they make about $2.50 and hour and they would work 6 hours some days. He was very proud to show us the house. We played the dice game again and the boys got into volleyball in a circle. then they had a compitition to see how many times they could kick the ball with their knee or foot before it touched the ground. We ran into Andrew Garrtetts brother so Austin wanted to take a picture of him for Andrew. It was a good day. It had rained during the night but we didn't get any rain in the day but it was cloudy all day and alot cooler.
